Hey Little Birdie!

C’est la Vie Print

I had my ipod on shuffle the other day, and one of the most random songs came on… Robbie Nevil’s “C’est la Vie”. And consequently, a slew of 80s memories flooded my mind. Now, I know a few of you just uttered an appalling sentence, “I have no idea what she is talking about because I wasn’t born yet.” And if I am honest, I am sad for you. Because while much in the 80s was overdone and quite silly, there were amazing elements as well that should always be cherished.

Let me educate or remind (for my similarly aged friends) you of such gems: Friendship pins, frequent use of the word “totally”, Atari, Punky Brewster, John Hughes movies, not to mention Fraggle Rock and boom boxes. It was a magical time.

All of that to say, every once and a while you need a reminder of where you’ve been. This might serve as mine…

Studio Mela has tons of prints that will engage you in memories, inspiring thoughts or cultivate some creativity in you. Look through the prints and pick one for yourself that will “surround you in positivity”.

Oh, and don’t forget to tell me what your favorite 80’s trend was … or is (yep, it’s coming back).

  2. love me some fraggles. and i still say “totally” all the time. is that not cool anymore?
one of the greatest gifts of the 80s was madonna. i can still picture myself spinning on a tire swing, singing “true blue” and wishing i was in that music video.
